Enfida is also called as Enfidaville and is 43 kilometers to the north of Sousse city. The population of Enfida is 5,000, making it the market center of a large agricultural area. Prior to the French occupation, the Beys had a huge property which was sold in 1880 to a French Private company. The local peasants of Enfida were forced to leave their land and most of the agricultural estates of more than 100,000 hectares were established.
