Dougga is located in the mountain inland in Tunisia which was abandoned and deserted with the Vandal invasion.
This site offers some amazing ruins, some of which have been restored.
The majority of the finest statues and mosaics are transferred to the Bardo Museum in Tunis.
You can get to see the significant ruins here; a fine selection of temples around Dougga, the theater dating back to 168 BC, the Licinian Baths and many more.
You can also see the Libyco-Punic mausoleum, the finest structure to survive to date.
