Zitouna Mosque is also known Al-Zaytuna Mosque, Ezzitouna Mosque or as Ez-Zitouna. Zitouna Mosque is a major mosque which dates back to 860 and is situated in Tunis, Tunisia.

Known to be the oldest in Tunisia, it covers an area of 5,000 square meters having nine entrances. There are 160 authentic columns which were originally brought from the ruins of Carthage city.

What’s more, this mosque is known to host one of the first and also the greatest universities in Islam history.
