The tranquil and secluded Nyanga National Park lies in the north of the Highlands. It is home to Africa’s second highest waterfall and offers great views of the Nyanga (Rhodes) Dam. You can also visit the Rhodes Museum, Nyangombe Falls, the majestic Pungwe Falls (at a height of more than 240 m) and the Falls of Mtaraza and Muchururu, which make their way down a towering cliff into the Honde Valley.
Zimbabwe’s highest mountain, Mount Inyangani is about 15 km from the village, with a height of 2600 m.
From Nyanga, you can head to Bvumba Hills, which lie above the city of Mutare. Explore the hills and find rare African butterflies, and the even rarer Samango Monkey. The Leopard Rock Hotel with its casino and golfing facilities make for a popular stop here.
Tour Zimbabwe’s finest mountain wilderness region Chimanimani with its volcanic peaks, like Monte Binga at 2400 m, and the popular Bridal Veil Falls.
