Things to Do in Kandahar: attractions to See in Kandahar

Kandahar: Attractions and more...

Despite the fact that Kandahar has been the site of many wars and social unrest, it has retained its rich history and culture. The sheer beauty of the ancient monuments invites tourists from all over the world.

The Tomb of Ahmad Shah Durrani, who is also known as the father of Afghanistan, is probably the most important historical monument in Kandahar. Situated next to it is the holy enshrinement of Prophet Muhammad known as Muhammad’s Cloak.

Located at the edge of the River Arghandab, the Shrine of Baba Wali is a popular recreational spot. The shrine offers an excellent view of an extensive teahouse located on the opposite side.

Near Eidgah Durwaza is the Kandahar Museum which houses various paintings and artwork by leading local artists. Other places of interest include the Chihil Zina (Forty Steps), Zoar Shar (Old City) and Baghipul.
