Taktshang Lhakang is a famous monastery in Paro, which consists of seven beautiful temples. Situated at a high altitude, it is one of the most visited places and can be reached only by climbing as it is located on the edge of a cliff. The area also houses a much visited coffee house.
Paro Dzong is an architectural delight and the hub of all religious affairs of the valley. It highlights the cultural might of the country. The National Museum, located on the top of Paro Dzong, is one of the oldest constructions of Bhutan. It features a significant collection of stamps, birds, weapons and ancient Bhutanese artefacts.
Paro Tshechu is an annual festival that takes place every spring; it is held in remembrance of Guru Rimpoche. It is the most authentic showcase of the Bhutanese traditions with several music and dance performances.
