Things to Do in Angkor: attractions to See in Angkor

Angkor: Attractions and more...

While many of Angkor’s temples are in ruins, most of them have been restored. The area of Angkor is home to some of the best archaeological sites like the Angkor Wat, the world’s largest single religious monument. Angkor Wat, built during the twelfth century, is the symbol of Cambodia with its classic Khmer architecture. Renowned for its design and architectural style and built using sandstone, the temple has been decorated using devatas and bas-reliefs. Today, Angkor Wat is a major tourism destination, bringing in more than one million visitors annually.

Banteay Samre, Baksei Chamkrong, West Mebon, Thommanon, Chao Say Tevoda, and the temples of Preah Pithu are some of the other popular archaeological sites. The ancient city of Angkor Thom, which houses a large number of temples and monuments, is also worth a visit.
Angkor festival, one of the most important festivals in the region, is a celebration of ancient myths and legends.
