Bokor National Park
The prime attraction with respect to Bokor National Park is ‘old French Hill Station’ which can be frequented as one-day trip from Sihanoukville or Kampot. The ‘turn-off’ to Bokor National Park lies at the distance of 8 kilometers from Kampot. The park HQ and main entrance have been located at the distance of around 1 Kilometer from main road. Here onwards, there is an additional uphill; at 32 Km for reaching the summit. As of 2008 (the month of October), road going towards Bokor has been officially closed owing to ongoing construction. Hence, access on the independent basis appears to be next to impossible. One can still get a trip arranged via ‘local travel agents’. There seems to be certain bribery involved with regards to local officials. That’s why; these trips have become very costly; as much as $40 per person.
