The Temple of Sun is situated in Chaoyang District of Beijing, China. It is located within the Ritan Park in the Jianguomen area. The temple is an important site of the city.
The altar of the temple was constructed in 1530 by the Chinese Emperor during the late Ming Dynasty to be used for ceremonial sacrifices to the sun. Today the area surrounding the temple is a public park. It features beautiful gardens along with a small lake.
The beauty of the Temple of Sun is also enhanced with the adumbral trees as well as simple and serene scenes.
