Summer Palace

It is a nice place up near Xiang Shan. It is situated in a beautiful place but it is a little out of the way. It is a good place for families and possibly couples. In the complex of the Summer Palace, that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there many buildings, parks, gardens and lots of things to see.

The Summer Palace

The Summer Palace located within the Haidian District is reputed to be the most well-preserved imperial garden in the world.

The Palace is the largest of its kind that is still in existence in China.

The palace is comprises of the Kunming Lake and the Longevity Hill while the garden is divided into three zones.

Longevity Hill is spread across a quarter of the entire area while the Kunming Lake is spread across the remaining three quarters.

The striking imperial garden consists of highly decorated halls, pavilions, buildings, pagodas, isles, courtyards, bridges and towers.

The pleasant layout of the garden consists of Chinese architectural masterwork that combines both the riches of the conventional Chinese gardening art and an elegant landscape.
