Back Lakes has some of the most extensive old hutong (a type of narrow streets) neighborhoods in Beijing. Locally known as Houhu, this offers all escape from the city hustle and bustle life. The neighborhood has three picturesque lakes, which are, Hou Hai (Back Lake), Qian Hai (Front Lake) and Xi Hai (West Lake). Back Lakes is one of the three lakes and an ideal spot for family get-togethers and for walking and relaxing.
