Tourist Guide Chengdu
Chengdu is the capital city of Sichuan province in south-west China. It is a sub-provincial city.
Located to the west of the Sichuan Basin and in the centre of the Chengdu Plain, Chengdu covers a total area of 123,000 sq km.
Chengdu has a subtropical monsoon climate, which is mild and humid. The mean annual temperature ranges between 15.5°C to 16.5°C, while the annual rainfall received is 900–1,300 mm. The best time to visit the city is either between March and June or September and November.
The population of the city is approximately 10,600,000, making Chengdu the fifth most populous city in China. Chengdu is also an important economic centre, with major communication and transportation industries located in the city. It is also the main centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine.
