Tourist Guide Dalian
Dalian, lying in the eastern Liaoning Province, is a sub-provincial city in the north of China. The city also serves as the northernmost ice-free seaport for China.
The city of Dalian is bounded by the Yellow Sea to the east and the Bohai Sea to the west. The terrain of the city is high, constituting mainly of mountains and hills.
Due to its location in the warm temperate zone of Northern Hemisphere, Dalian experiences a warm temperate monsoon climate. Therefore, neither are the summers too hot nor the winters too cold. On average, the temperature throughout the year is 15°C.
Dalian has an approximate population of 6,200,000. The city covers a total area of 12,574 sq km, of which 2,415 sq km is the old city. Dalian has been awarded the status of an ‘open city’, which enables it to receive valuable foreign investment.
