Tourist Guide Guilin
Guilin, a scenic city, is located in the north-east of Guangi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China. It lies on the left bank of the Lijang River.
The terrain of the city comprises of strangely shaped hills or karsts, verdant vegetation ranging from bamboo to conifers and some wonderful caves.
The city experiences a subtropical monsoon climate. There are four distinct seasons of summer, spring, winter and autumn. Winters are warm, spring is rainy, and summers are hot. The best season for travelling to Guilin is autumn. The average annual temperature of the city is 19°C.
Guilin has approximately 670,000 inhabitants. The entire city is covered with the fragrant sweet osmanthus tree, from which it derives it name, which means ‘forest of sweet osmanthus’.
