Hangzhou, known for its beauty and heritage sites, is one of the most important tourism cities of China. Surrounded by mountains, West Lake is one of the most beautiful sites in Hangzhou. Also, Lesser Yingzhou Isle is the largest island located in the lake.
The Wushan square, which is the town centre, offers an excellent view of the hills. Lingyin Si, the oldest Buddhist temple in the city, is an important heritage site. Guo’s Villa and Dreaming of the Tiger Spring are two popular tourist spots.
Hangzhou is one of the best places to eat in China. Some of the traditional dishes include west lake fish in sweet and sour sauce, west lake water shield soup, shelled shrimp with dragon well tea and dongpo pork.
While shopping in Hangzhou, be sure to buy some of the famous Longjing tea. For shoppers, Silk market is a prime shopping centre.
