Three Immortals Buddhist Caves
The Three Immortals Buddhist Caves are located 11 miles towards the north of Kashgar. All the three caves have two chambers, one in the front and one at the rear. The middle cave is the largest and has the statue of the Buddha in the rear chamber.
Takla Makan Desert
The Takla Makan Desert is the second largest shifting sand desert in the world and the largest desert in China. It is spread over an area of 33,700 square kilometers in the midst of Tarim in Xinjiang. The height of the sand dunes is more than 100 meters and in case of some it is more than 300 meters and these move ahead at a speed of 150 meters per year. One also sees trees like the mulberries, pomegranate trees, rose-willows and poplars in this desert. There are about 80 species of birds that can be seen in the interiors of the desert.
Karakuri Lake
Karakuri Lake is spread over an area of 10 square kilometers at an elevation of 3600 meters towards the east of the Pamirs in Xinjiang. It is the largest lake in the Pamirs. This is a perfect location to be in, during summer as the climate is cold and the air is fresh. Tourists can use the local yurts and wooden houses in the service center. This lake has a depth of 30 meters and hence looks very ebony and blue.
