Kunming: Attractions and more...
Kunming has now developed into a thriving tourist destination. The city has a variety of things to look forward to like the Stone Forest, a National Scenic Resort in China. Located in Shilin County, the unique stone forest is a must visit in the city. The city of Kunming is well endowed with natural beauty, which can be appreciated by visiting the stunning lakes and hills in the region like the Dianchi Lake and Dianchi Park, or the West Hills.
The Yunnan Provincial Museum can be visited to gather a complete understanding of the region’s historical background.
An interesting site to look forward to is the Dragon Gate. It consists of the Sanqing Temple Complex and the Dragon Gate Grotto Complex, which has some amazing architecture.
Yunnan cuisine forms an important aspect of Chinese cuisine. When in Kunming, do make sure to gorge on some local specialities like Yunnan ham, Cured Chicken, Long Across the Bridge Rice noodles, Fragrant tea etc.
