Tourist Guide Ningbo
Ningbo is located in the northeastern Zheijing Province in China. It is a seaport with sub-provincial administrative status. It lies to the south of the HANG ZHOU bay and faces the East China Sea to the east. To the west of NINGBO lies Shaoxing and to the south is Taizhou. A narrow stream of water separates Ningbo from Zhou Shan. Ningbo’s location coordinates are 29˚52’ north and 121˚33’ east. Ningbo has an area of 3,616 sq mi and has a total coastline (both mainland and island) of 971 mi. The city shares a sub tropical monsoon climate with temperatures ranging from 32˚c in summer to 9˚c in winter. The city sees snow showers for just 20-30 days with an annual rainfall between 50 to 55 inches.
It is a Sub Provincial City of with a population of 5,681,000 inhabitants and a density of 606.6 km square. Ningbo being a coastal city has a very old history dating back to the Hemudu culture in 4800 B.C. The city was known as the trade city on the Silk Road some 2000 years ago and is a major port in Tang Dynasty. Ningbo’s anglers are world famous for their development in the art of fishing.
