Qingdao can be described as one of the major cities located in Shandong province’s eastern part; in People’s Republic of China.
Qingdao goes on to border yantai on the north-eastern side, Weifang on the western side, and Rizhao on the south-western side. Having lain across Shandong Peninsula; that too while glancing towards Yellow Sea, in today’s situation, Qingdao is the main seaport, industrial center, and naval base. This place is also site of Tsingtao Brewery.
From the point of view of administration, Qingdao is at sub-provincial level. Off late, it had been named by none other than ‘China Daily’ as ‘ninth most livable city’ in China.
Climate of Qingdao has been greatly influenced by monsoons. This place happens to fall on borderline; that too, between humid continental and humid subtropical regions. Winter can be described as ‘cool-to-cold’; at times, windy and snowy. Temperatures reach the freezing point as well. Summers are humid and hot.
The population as per 2006 census was estimated to be 8 million.
