Yanmiao Temple located on the northern side of Qufu had been erected in around 200 BC; especially for Confucius’s favorite pupil; i.e. Yan Hui. The premature death just at the age of 32 of this pupil went on affect Confucius in a terrible manner. Main Hall has been supported by 4 stone columns that have been decorated with ‘dragon motives’. Roof has been covered with ‘green glazed ceramic tiles’.
Timings
This temple remains open every single day between 0730 and 1630 hrs.
Confucius Temple
This temple had been constructed in the year 478 BC; just an year following death of Confucius at instigation of ‘Duke Lu Aigong’. The above-mentioned temple, in fact, goes on to stand on site of house wherein Confusius had been born. The building, however, got damaged in course of time. The restoration took place for around 60 times.
