The Shanghai Railway Museum is set in Shanghai to introduce the development of railways in Shanghai as well as in East China over the past 100 years.
The Shanghai Railway Museum was built on former site of Shanghai Railway Station. The station was built in 1901 in classic English style. The museum was built in four floors, having a main exhibition hall covering 1,000 square meter of area and a 1,300 square meter of an outdoor exhibition. The exhibition area of the Shanghai Railway Museum is divided into six different sections and showcases all aspects of the devcelopemnt of the railway in China.
The collection consists of models of vehicles and locomotives that show the development of the railway technology.
