Tianjin, in China, is among the four municipalities of the country. The city is China’s third largest metropolitan area with a population of over ten million inhabitants. It is a centre of modern infrastructure and multinational industries as well as a famous tourist destination.
The climate of Tianjin is continental, but prone to variance. Summers are hot and humid, while winters are cool and dry. Strong winds are experienced during spring. July to September is the monsoon period. April to October is the peak tourist season.
Tianjin was incorporated as a municipality of China in 1927. It came under China’s rule after some years and began to progress rapidly in the seventies. In recent times, it has become an important industrial city with textiles, manufacturing and petrochemical industries being the main components.
