Guqin Tai Terrace
The ‘Guqin Tai Terrace’ had been laid out in the eleventh century BC to commemorate the reputable Qin player ‘Yu Boya’, who had lived 2000 years back. It has also been believed that he used to come there frequently for sitting and seeking solace in the music composed by him. It is said that Zhong Ziqi, his bossom friend was the sole one to appreciate quality of those compositions. One of them was ‘Mountain Brook’. After the death of Zhong Ziqi, Yu Boya took the decision of never ever playing his zither ‘another time’. There stands a petite pavilion on this terrace. On its ledge hangs a tiny wooden plague showing 4 Chinese characters meaning ‘Mountain Brook’.
Yellow Crane Tower
Yellow Crane Tower, which has been extolled as ‘eternal sight of city’ stands with all its pride on top of ‘Snake Mountain’ on the western side of ‘Wuchang district’. The destruction and reconstruction of this 167 ft/51 m tower has taken place a number of times. The latest year of its reconstruction was 1984.
