The city of Wuxi is located about 7 km north to the shores of the lake Taihu. The lake covers an area of 22000sq.km or 850 sq mi. it is the fifth largest lake in China. It snuggles between hills on the slopes of which crystal-clear springs bubble forth and beautiful gardens have been laid out.The lake is a rich tourism resource. YUANTOU ZHU (the islet of turtlehead), TAIHU XIANDAO (islands of the deities) are among the various famous spots to be visited here.
