The Gulangyu Island is a remarkable place with spectacular scenery, varied architecture and historical artefacts. Some of the popular spots within the island are The Sunlight Rock, which is said to be the tallest point in Xiamen, and the Shuzhuang Garden.
The most famous Buddhist temple in Xiamen, the Nanputuo Temple, is also worth a visit. Situated at the edge of Wulaofeng Mountains, the temple displays intricate architecture.
The Wanshi Hill is an alluring panorama which has about 4,000 species of tropical plants. It houses the Wanshi Botanical Gardens which is a favoured tourist attraction owing to the lush green surroundings. The Wanshilian Temple, the Tipsy Fairy Rock, the Taiping Rock and the Elephant Trunk Peak are also worth visiting.
