No specific vaccinations or immunizations are required while visiting Hong Kong as there are no specific health risks. Although the food and water are safe, it is always advisable to use bottled or mineral water. The possibility of dengue fever is high, and so, it is recommended to use adequate amounts of mosquito repellent. Taking necessary precautions against bird flu is recommended.

Hong Kong’s medical system, doctors and hospitals and medical care is of excellent standards and is available all throughout the country. Obtaining travel medical insurance before travelling is suggested. 

Hong Kong is a safe place to visit. Pickpockets and theft are common in certain areas and tourists should take extra care of their belongings. Avoid accepting drinks from strangers and do not carry large amounts of cash and other valuables.

Smoking is prohibited in public areas and littering is illegal.
