Considered as the largest state in India with regard to area, Rajasthan covers most of the area of the vast hostile Great Indian Desert. With Jaipur as its capital, Rajasthan houses some of the oldest heritages of the world like the ancient archaeological ruins at Kalibanga and the oldest Aravalli Range cradling Mount Abu and famous Dilwara temples. Rajasthan also houses two wildlife sanctuaries, Ranthambore and Sariska, known for its population of tigers. Some of the favourite spots for tourists are the forts of Jaisalmer, lakes of Udaipur, temples of Bikaner and the palaces of Jaipur & Jodhpur. The famed Thar Desert is also situated here.
Rajasthani is the main language spoken here. Apart from that, Hindi, Punjabi and Sindhi are the other dialects which are used. Rajasthan, well known for its handicrafts, textiles and semi precious stones is referred to as a shopper’s Eden.
