Agra Fort

Agra Fort is located 2.5 kilometers to the north-west of the Taj Mahal in Agra.
It is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
This fort is also called as Red Fort of Agra, Fort Rouge or the Lal Qila. It is the fort of utmost importance in India as the great Mughals governed the nation from this monument.
Inside the fort there are several structures, such as mosques, palaces and "mahal".
The most famous who worth a visit are Sheesh Mahal, Shah Jahani Mahal, Shahi Burj, Rang Mahal, Naubat Khana.
This fort has a semi-circular plan and the walls have a height of seventy feet.
On each of the four sides, there are four gates (Delhi gate, Lahore gate, Elephant gate, Akbar gate) and there is one Khizri gate that opens on the river.
