Spot-billed Pelicans, Painted Storks, and many other birds perform the task of migrating from several countries like Australia, Siberia, and make use of this sanctuary. Water tanks in this village, by which bird sanctuary has been named stand out from their counterparts as they make provisions for numerous bird species; inclusive of the ones mentioned above. At present, around 7000 birds stay in such a dwindling habitat. Artificial tress have been added to pond; upon which birds can go on to perch apart from natural trees.
Nagarjuna Sagar Dam
This dam can be mentioned as one of the masonry dams constructed across ‘Krishna River’ in ‘Nagarjuna Sagar, AP, India’. It enjoys the credit of being the tallest dam Of masonry type across the globe. A reservoir which can hold upto 472 cu.m has been created. This dam is located at height of around 124 meters.
