Pushkaram festival is celebrated every twelve years for the Godavari River. It was last celebrated in the month of August in 2003. Moreover, it was estimated that around 3.4 crores of people tool a holy dip at the River in Rajahmundry. During this festival, it is said that if a person takes a holy dip, he can get rid of all his sins and get blessing from the God.
