Secunderabad can be referred to as a twin city of Hyderabad, i.e. Andhra Pradesh’s capital. In spite of they being termed as ‘twins’, there is vast difference between the two, right from culture to standard of living. Such a difference mainly occurs due to the fact that Secunderabad had developed under BRITISH Rule on the direct basis till the year 1948; whereas Hyderabad was a capital of princely state ruled by Nizam (till 17th of September, 1948).
This city came in to being in the eighteenth century in the form of a ‘British Cantonment’. Moreover, it has a huge Air Force and Army presence till date. Secunderabad had city government of his own till now. At present, however, it’s a portion of Hyderabad.
Elevation of Hyderabad on an average is around 1781 feet.
This city falls in the temperate zone. Hence, the climate is quite dry. And tropical wet.
The population as per census conducted in the year 2001 was 204182.
