Tourist Guide Tirumala
Tirumala is situated in Chittoor District of the state of Andhra Pradesh close to the holy city of Tirupati.
The area of this place is 10.33 square miles and it is at a height of 3200 feet above sea level. This place is comprised of seven hills called Venkatadri, Narayanadri, Vrishabhadri, Anjanadri, Garudadri, Neeladri and Seshadri which represent the seven hoods of Adisesha (a snake) and hence this place is also called Seshachalam.
On the peak of Venkatadri, the holy temple of Sri Venkateshwara is situated. There is also the temple of Lord Venkateshwara at Tirumala that is referred to as Balaji which is the richest temple in the world.
This region has a tropical climate and the conditions are hot and humid all round the year. However, at the Tirumala hills the winters are cool and pleasant.
To enhance the spreading of Indian culture, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam took a decision to print the ‘Culture Course’ books for Std. I to X in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu.
