Tourist Guide Warangal
Warangal lies in Andhra Pradesh’s Telangana region. It stands at a distance of 145 Km on the north-eastern side of Hyderabad, i.e. state capital.
From the geographical point of view, Warangal’s total area is of 12846 sq. Km. It’s bordered by ‘Karimnagar district’ on the northern side, Khammam district on the eastern as well as south-eastern side, Nalgonda district on the south-western side, and ‘Medak district’ on the western side. This place has obtained reputation as a ‘granite center’ of India; especially brown and black varieties, tobacco, cotton, and grain market (chillies and rice). The elevation on an average is of 990 feet.
Most of the people in Warangal speak Telugu. It’s, in fact, the state language of Andhra Pradesh.
The population as per 1991 census was 2818832.
