Tourists visit this beautiful lake, which is situated amidst the green Aravali hills for boating and horse riding, and has a romantic ambience.
The Maharaja Jaipur Palace and the Raghunath Temple are also in close proximity from this lake. The Nakki Lake derived its name from a legend which explains that this lake was dug out by Gods who used their nails or ‘nakh’ (nakki), for its excavation.
The Toad Rock situated on a hill near the lake is named as such because it resembles a toad about to jump into the lake. There are 2 ways of going to the rock. One is by climbing the steps, which is relatively safer, and the other is to climb the rocky hill side, which is enjoyed by the young and adventurous lot.
Besides the Nakki Lake is a path leading to Sunset Point, which is however forbidden to enter as there are perilous bandits living around this area. |
