The Nagarhole National Park is situated in Karnataka state about 80 kilometers from Mysore and 220 kilometers from Bangalore and is spread over an area of 874.20 square kilometers.

The wildlife that can be seen in the Nagarhole National Park includes Chital, Sambar, Elephant, Gaur and occasionally a Leopard or a Tiger.
There are also other mammals like Macaques, Langurs, Slender Loris, Giant Squirrel, Pangolin, Wild Boar, the tiny Mouse Deer and the Muntjac.
There are about 250 varieties of birds, out of which some are the green imperial Pigeon, the Indian Pitta, the great Black Woodpecker, the Malabar Pied Hornbill and the Malabar Trogan and among the lesser cats one can find the rusty Spotted Cat, Leopard Cat and the Jungle Cat.
The nearest town to this park is Kutta which is at a distance of 7 kilometers. |
