Bandhavgarh National Park is located at a distance of 197 kilometers towards the north-east of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh state.

The park is spread over an area of 450 square kilometers, at a height of 800 meters above sea level.
The ideal time to visit the Bandhavgarh National Park is from February to June.The park is closed from 1st July to 31st October.
The park is named after an old fort in this region. This park boasts to be the habitat of the maximum density of tiger population in India. The thick forest is surrounded by wooden Vindhyan ranges and cliffs, where vultures can be noticed.
The plains are made up of reed covered and grass covered wetlands, where one can find Egrets and Kingfishers.
The Bandhavgarh National Park is dominated by fine trees of Sal. On the higher reaches of the hills, there are mixed forests.
Towards the north of the park, one can find grasslands and bamboo. The core of the park, where the major wildlife exists, consists of 32 wooded and beautiful hills. |
