The Sanjay National Park is spread over an area of nearly 2,303 square kilometers. The water supply for the flora and fauna is attained thorugh rivulets, rivers and other sources of water that are available throughout the year.
The fauna found in this park are python, monitor lizards, cobra, wild pigs, wild dogs, sloth bear, striped hyena, bison, monkey, porcupine, barking deer, jungle cat, four-horned antelopes, sambar, jackals, chinkara, nilgai, chital, leopards and tigers to name a few.
This park also houses birds like herons, egrets, racket-tailed drongos, tree pie, teetar, crimson breasted barbet, peafowl, dabchick, neelkanth pigeon, ducks, phakta, blue kingfisher, munias, wagtails, minivets orioles, bulbul, peacock, parrots etc.
The best time to visit the Sanjay National Park is from November to June. It is at distance of 60 kilometers from Sidhi district. |
