Loktak Lake and Sendra Island
Loktak Lake is the largest fresh water lake in eastern India and an ideal destination for fishing fans. Visitors can stay in bungalows located at shores of Sendra Island among fisherman huts. The lake is also famous for large variety of orchids.
Govindjee Temple
Temple located in the royal palace complex of former maharajas of Manipur in Imphal. It is a historic centre for Vaisnavites.
Keibul Lamjao National Park
The only floating national park in the world, 53 km from Imphal. The park is composed of large masses of floating weed, on which local fishermen build huts. Visitors can stay in such floating huts.
It is also a home for the endangered marsh-dwelling brow-antlered deer of Manipur called "Sangai", which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. |
