Cherrapunjee, popularly regarded as one of the most popular tourist spots in North Eastern India, lies 1300 meters above sea level and is known world over as the rainiest place on the planet. It is also famous for its limestone caves caves. It also commands a commanding view the plains of Bangladesh.

Shillong Peak is considered a great picnic spot located 10 km away from the city and about 1965 metres above sea level.

Sohpetbneng Peak is instead regarded as sacred and set amidst beautiful scenic views it is located 1,343 meter and around 20 Kms from Shillong.

Ward's Lake is located near the heart of the city and well known for its garden walks and boating. The Ward’s lake is a picturesque lake also known as Polok Lake

Umiam Water Sports Complex : having been developed upon the mighty reservoir of the Umiam Hydro Electric Project, consists of a beautiful Orchid Lake Resorts, the Nehru Park and offers a wide choice of exciting water sports.
