Information and more
Introduction:

The Palani Hills National Park is a proposed protected region in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu state.

Attractions and things to do

It is planned that the Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary, which would be established in 2008, would be upgraded and expanded to the Palani Hills National Park.

The climate in this region is moderate or cool. In January, thin ice can be seen on water bodies. The average rainfall during the year is 1,650 mm, which is majorly due to the north-east monsoon.

In this park, one can find wild boars in regions away from human civilization. Some species like grizzled giant squirrel, nilgiri tahr, wild ox and Indian elephant are threatened.

The Palani Hills are one of the oldest mountain ranges in India. They are formed from schists, charnockites and pre-Cambrian gneisses.

There are some attractive waterfalls in this park called as Anju Veedu, Thalaiyar, Skamba, Silver Cascade, Pambar, Neptune rapids, Glen, Fairy, Bear Shola and Bamen.
