Daporijo can be described as one amongst the census towns located in Arunachal Pradesh, India.
Daporijo is HQ of ‘Upper Subansiri district’. It stands at an elevation of around 600 meters from sea level. Daporijo inhabitants go on to have belonged to Hill Miri, Adi Gallong, and Tagin tribe. The population as per 2001 census was 15468. Out of this number, males constituted around 52%. Literacy rate on an average was around 59%; i.e. slightly lower than national average (59.5). Around 19% of total population was found to be below the age of 6.
The reputable weaving culture pertaining to tribal people would be observed in Daporijo city. This activity is amongst the prime professions of women over here. As such, majority of people in this place earn their bread and butter from this pursuit.
