Tourist Guide Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga National Park can be referred to as a ‘National Park’ in ‘Golaghat’ and ‘Nagaon’ districts of Assam, India. One of the ‘World Heritage Sites’, this park goes on to host 2/3rds of Great One-Horned Rhinoceroses’ of the world. This park can boast of the greatest density of ‘tigers’ amongst world’s protected areas. As such, it was declared a ‘Tiger Reserve’ in the year 2006.
It is a home to huge breeding populations with regards to swamp deer, wild water buffalo, and elephants.
Birdlife International has recognized Kaziranga as an ‘Important Bird Area’ for having conserved avifaunal species. The success achieved by Kaziranga with regards to wildlife conservation is notable. In the year 2005, it went on to celebrate its 100 years.
This park is roughly 40 Km (in length), ranging from ‘east’ to ‘west’, and 13 Km (in breadth) from ‘north’ to ‘south’.
Three seasons are experienced by Kaziranga National Park- summer, monsoon, winter. The period from November to February is dry and mild.
