Darbhanga Fort is another attraction for the outsiders who come to the city. The city is also known for its ponds and there are hundreds of them across the city. Some of the major ones are Harahi, Gangasagar and Dighi. There are also 2 museums like the Chandradhari Museum and the Maharaja Laxmiswar Singh which has exhibits like old clothes, coins, arms and artifacts donated by the royal family of Darbhanga.
There is also the official library of Sanskrit University which has a rich source for someone who is more interested in researching of ancient Indian culture and traditions. The library is known for its collection of over 5500 ancient manuscripts on subjects like Philosophy, Agam Tantra, Dharmashastra and Vyakaran.
