Bodh Gaya is at a distance of 65 miles towards the south of the capital of Bihar state, Patna.
From the midst of April to September there is summer and monsoon which is not the recommended time to visit Bodh Gaya. The ideal time to visit this place is from October to March.
During these months, the climate is cool as compared to the rest of the year. However, during winter, there may be fog which may pose a problem. In the months of May and June, it is very sweaty. From June to September, the monsoons may lead to heavy rainfall.
The population of Bodh Gaya is 3,23,000.
There are three types of ethnic groups in Bihar. The Indo-Aryan constitute 72 percent, the Dravidian make up for 25 percent and the other groups sum up to 3 percent.
The languages spoken in this region are English and Hindi.
The people here are majorly of two religions – Hinduism and Buddhism.
