Zirakpur is a municipal council and a town in Mohali district in the state of Punjab. It is situated on the Chandigarh-Delhi highway and towards the south of Chandigarh.

As per the 2001 census, the population of Zirakpur was 25,006.
The climate of Zirakpur is extremely hot in summer season and highly unpredictable in the monsoon. The ideal time to visit this place is between the autumn and winters (mid-August to November).
This town has historical importance as Guru Gobind Singh, Bhai Jaita, Guru Tegh Bahadur, Peer Buddhu Shah and Dargahi Shah are associated with Zirakpur and the closeby villages.
