Bastar is surely a must-see when in Chhattisgarh. One of the major and most vital river in Bastar is the River Indravati, with Pamer Chinta as its main tributary. This area is full of impenetrable forests filled with a variety of trees. Natural caves, high mountains, natural parks, valleys, waterfalls and streams are abundant in this region. There are loads to see for the tourist and it is suggested to spend a minimum of 3 days here. Bilaspur is a place famous for its quality of rice and its kosa silk. It is roughly 400 years old and is the second largest city of its state. Bilaspur is derived from bilasa, a name which is reserved for fisherwomen. Ratanpur instead was once the capital of Chhattisgarh. Remains of an old fort are present here. Above the structure of the Ganesh gate, a beautiful stone sculpture exists. Numerous temples are prevalent in this region. A nine foot tall idol stands in the temple of baba bairavnath which is prior to the palace of Ratanpur. Raipur : all the main towns of the surrounding regions are linked with Raipur by road. This place offers a picturesque route to Kanha national park during which the traveler may also stopover to see Bhoramdeo temple.
