Daman and Diu are both important union territories which are famous for their beaches in India. Alcohol is fully prohibited in the state of Gujarat, hence people come from here to Diu to drink at the many pubs and bars around the island.
Diu is a small place but one can come here to unwind and relax at some of the most comfortable and reasonably priced accommodations.
Hotel Kohinoor has a discotheque and a bar.
One can enjoy swimming at the clean and uncrowded beaches here and dine on superb cuisine at the Diu Sanman Hotel. Although the bars and shops close after 11 at night one can take a moonlit walk around the town which is very safe.
Hotel Apna has a nice rooftop restaurant where they serve more than 200 varieties of dishes at reasonable rates.
To the east of the town is the Pannikotta lighthouse which is a dazzling sight in Christmas with tree lights.
