Old Goa was established around the 15th century. The main attractions of this place are the St. Cathedral, the Church of St. Caetano, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi and the Basilica of Bom Jesus containing the body of St. Francis Xavier.
However, it's undisputed that among the best places to visit in Goa, a really must-see are its worldwide famous beaches.
Calangute, situated in North Goa, and to the North of which lies Baga and to the south Candolim are the famous beaches of this State.
The best time to visit this place is in winter and summer. The sea is fierce during monsoons proving it unsafe for swimming.
