Candolim is famous for its magnificent sandy beach. Many tourists come here to enjoy peaceful time on the beach. They also indulge themselves in several water activities like swimming, fishing as well.
However, some parts of the beach are not safe for swimming. Tourists can confirm that with the local residents of the beach. It is better to come out of the water before the tidal waves gets high.
There have been some fatal incidences on the beach during the high tidal waves. The local people are generally welcoming and helpful. However, never leave your luggage and belongings unattended.
The paddy fields in Candolim are home to several snakes, which occasionally come out of the field. Always take a torch in case fields are needed to be crossed at night. Stray dogs may be a little troublesome, so try to stay away from them.
Goa is notorious for drugs too. The laws for drugs are strict in every part of Goa, including Candolim. Stay away from rave parties and crazy people who are drug addicts. They might land you in serious trouble.
