Rauza of Sarkhe is situated at about ten-km from the main city of Ahmedabad. A revered Sufi saint, Hazarat Sheikh Ahmed Khattu, settled at this place ten years before the foundation of Ahmedabad city.

He died at the age of 108 and was highly respected by the Sultans of Ahmedabad. This Rauza represents his mausoleum, which is amongst the largest in the state of Gujarat.

It features a pillared hall, trellised windows that carry perforated-screen work and paneled walls. After the burial of the saint, the place turned into a necropolis as a number of tombs of the Sultans, nobles and their relatives were buried in the vicinity of the great spirited saint.

Adjacent to the main hall is a simple Jami Masjid, a tank and some ruins of underground-chambers.

Another specialty of the place is a 5-century-old candle which is translucent and stands 6 ft high. It is lighted very briefly during the anniversaries of the Hazarat Sheikh.
